Steering Wheel Cover

253,212 Miles

Performed: May 14, 2022

Saw a post on T4R.org and decided I needed a new steering wheel cover. Actually it started several months ago when a buddy commented that I had “the skinny” wheel. The post just pushed me into taking action. $8.99 from China. What could go wrong?

As seen on Amazon

Didn’t look like much

Ordered from Amazon on April 27, 2022. It was supposed to arrive between May 20 and June 9. It arrived May 14. I should have ordered 2.

Instructions would have been nice but I guess for $9 you’re on your own.

15 minutes to remove the wheel so I could work inside at my clutter-free desk.

  • Bicycle Tire Tool

Tight Fit

My first thought was that I ordered the wrong size. But after soaking in hot water for 15 minutes and then trying a bicycle tire tool I finally got it on.

Well, it’s on.

I see every flaw. I kind of hate it. But it feels much better. Guess I’ll just keep my eyes shut until I get the next one on.

What went wrong? I did every other loop as suggested by the majority of YouTube videos and write ups I found. I switched to every loop for the last 1/4 of the wheel and that part turned out much better. Next time I’ll either do every other loop, in both directions, or just do every loop in the same direction. Just like everything I do, I’m sure the next time will take half as long.
