Skid Plate Bolt Holes

261,186 Miles

Performed: June 10, 2023

2 years ago I stripped the right rear skid plate bolt hole when I overtightened it. I’d been using loctite to hold it in place until I tapped it for a 3/8 bolt when I replaced the front sway bushings and starter contacts.

That worked great but the 3/8 bolt had a 14mm head while the head on the M8’s was 10mm. I put up with that until I recently felt another bolt about to strip.

It was time to tap the remaining bolt holes and standardize on bolts.

I got two holes done before it started raining. Drought my ass.

It was a small job but I’ll be thanking myself next time I have to remove those skid plates.
