Since I had no idea when or if these had been changed I decided to go for it. Along with the new, crack-less intake tube, I’m hoping for a bit better mileage. I doused the bolts with PB Blaster last night just in case and the nuts came loose with almost zero effort.
The plug took a little effort to get out but there’s plenty of elbow room in there.
I picked up a selection of stainless nuts to have on hand in case I needed them but ended up reusing the existing nuts. Maita Toyota wanted about $130 for the O2 sensor. Denso made the original so I picked up a Denso on Amazon for less than half that. Hasn’t thrown any codes yet.
The gasket came right off too, leaving very little behind to clean up. Some light buffing with 1,000 grit and I was good to go. (this is the original gasket)
