Steering Rack Bushings

248,757 Miles

Performed: July 4, 2021

Rack bushings finally arrived so I jumped right in. O’Reilly’s had the C-frame press and the 4WD adapter kits so that was good. It was a messy job and more difficult to do alone than the sway bar bushings. I only dropped the C-frame press on my face thrice. I disconnected the driver’s side tie rod per Timmy but I tried to get away with not removing the transmission lines bracket on the driver’s side frame as Tim had so helpfully pointed out. After the third time the C-frame connected with my face I managed to get in there and remove that bracket. Nice and easy after that. Hands were too filthy to be taking pictures so this is all I have.
