Toyo Open Country A/T III

Performed: May 10, 2022

The 4Runner was pulling to the right after the post LCA bushing alignment. I assumed Costco was the way to go so a membership was acquired. Based on the wait time for Michelins I decided to go for Toyo Open Country’s. America’s Tires’ website claimed I could get A/T IIs for $150 each but wouldn’t let me buy online because they claimed the tires wouldn’t fit. Basic look ups can show the ’96 SR5 had 15″ wheels. In-person, I was told the A/T IIs weren’t available but I could get the IIIs for $219. Big O Tire wanted about $240. I showed the guy the tires at BB Wheels Online for $194.99 and he matched the price at an even $194. That was a surprise. The included Hunter road force balancing was also a pleasant surprise.

Bottom line, for just under $1100 I got some great new tires and the ride improved ten-fold. I hadn’t realized how rock-hard the old tires had gotten.
