Tighten Valve Cover Bolts

Performed: November 10, 2021

In a failed attempt to stop an oil leak I decided to tighten the valve cover bolts. I’d tightened all the bolts I could get to without removing the plenum but the leak seemed worse. I was hoping that only tightening one side caused the other to leak more so I bit the bullet and set out to get them all tightened to spec. At least I learned how easy it was to get to that point. I only wish I’d had the parts to redo the valve cover gasket job I had done last spring. I didn’t know any better and the guy talked me out of doing the half moons and cam plugs.

Had a high idle after I put everything back together. Turns out I’d missed a vacuum line.
